Carissa & Jonah reached out via friends of friends just months prior to their wedding - their original photographer suffered a family emergency, and they were in a tight spot. It turned out that Jonah and I had played football against each other just the previous year in a cross-conference matchup; they both attended George Fox, I was at Puget Sound.

Luckily, I had availability, and the rest was history. They made the absolute most of their wonderful weather, pausing for portraits all throughout the afternoon and evening, and making sure their family & friends didn't miss out on any fun in the meantime.

The day began with makeup and hair, done by the maid of honor, Allie. Then, Carissa & Jonah opted for a less-common "first touch" as opposed to a first look, giving them the opportunity to exchange gifts and have a moment to themselves even though they wouldn't truly see each other before the ceremony. Carissa also gifted her dad a custom tie, with an image of the two of them imposed on the back.

The ceremony was hot (Salem, OR. in the summer isn't exactly cold), but quick, and the party moved to the shade of the barn fairly quickly, with Carissa & Jonah taking some time for themselves before dinner, dancing, and sunset portraits.
